JOSEPH R. Barbaro

Joeseph Barbaro has been practicing law for more than 35 years. He is a graduate of DePaul University and John Marshall Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate. Barbaro served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County and a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Maui County Hawaii. During this time he was assigned to multiple high profile units including the Homicide Sex Crimes Division and Gang Prosecutions Unit where he successfully prosecuted more than 65 felony jury trials. In addition to prosecuting several high profile cases in Hawaii, Barbaro served as Supervisor of the Circuit Court Division. Since leaving the prosecutor’s office Barbaro has used his experience as a prosecutor to successfully defend criminal clients. He now concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, traffic, DUI, real estate transactions, personal injury law, wills, trusts, and probate. 

Richard Bertalmio

Richard Bertalmio is the firm’s associate attorney. He is a graduate of The John Marshall Law School, and predominantly focuses on the areas of personal injury, criminal litigation, and real estate transactions. Richard is an experienced trial attorney, who has litigated hundreds of bench and jury trials, and numerous legal motions. Prior to joining the Barbaro Law Group in 2014, Bertalmio worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Richard is committed to compassionately explaining complex legal issues to his clients and advocating for their rights in court.

Deanna Barbaro

Deanna Barbaro is an associate attorney and daughter of The Barbaro Law Group’s founder Joe Barbaro.  Following in her father’s footsteps, Deanna started her law career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County.  She has litigated hundreds of jury and bench trials in traffic, misdemeanor, and felony courtrooms.  Since joining the Barbaro Law group, Deanna has resolved numerous traffic, criminal, probate, and personal injury cases in courtrooms across Chicagoland.  Outside of the courtroom, Deanna handles real estate, wills, and trusts.  She also serves as an administrative hearing officer in multiple surrounding municipalities.  Deanna is a graduate of Bradley University and Valparaiso University School of Law.
